House Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers has announced that the final fiscal year 2012 Appropriations legislation has been introduced in the House. This package of legislation will provide critical funds for national security, one of the most basic responsibilities of the federal government. The bill will also prevent a potential government shutdown, support important domestic programs and services that the American people rely on, and make significant policy changes that will help rein in government overreach and help put the economy on more stable footing.

House Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers announced that the House and Senate will hold a joint Conference Committee meeting on the remaining fiscal year 2012 Appropriations bills on Thursday, December 8, at 11:00 am.

"This bill keeps us on track to cut regular discretionary spending by $98 billion compared to the President’s fiscal year 2012 request, and some $47 billion below the fiscal year 2010 level. When all Appropriations work this year is completed, it will be the second year in a row that we have reduced total discretionary spending – a remarkable and historic achievement."
