The United States House of Representatives today passed a short-term Continuing Resolution (CR) to prevent a government shutdown and continue funding for critical federal programs and services through February 8, 2019. The temporary funding measure also provides $5 billion for border wall construction and $7.8 billion for disaster recovery.

The President today signed an Appropriations “minibus” funding bill which includes the Department of Defense (DOD), the Labor, Health and Human Services (LHHS) and Education Appropriations bills for fiscal year 2019, as well as a short-term Continuing Resolution (CR) to temporarily fund remaining government programs until December 7, 2018. The legislation is now enacted into law.

The bill funds important agricultural and food programs and services, including food and medical product safety, animal and plant health programs, rural development and farm services, agricultural trade, financial marketplace oversight, and nutrition programs.
