Thanksgiving Tidings: Preparing a Full Course of FY26 Deliverables
Washington, D.C. – The season of gratitude is upon us, and we look toward the good governance that has moved us forward. The House Appropriations Committee has been resolute in completing our work, line-by-line. No shortcuts, no stuffing – just steady FY26 stewardship. No matter the challenge, tight calendar timeline, or work ahead of us, our members delivered through discourse, targeted funding, and America First priorities. Step by step, we’ve carved out a path to regular order, restored accountability, and set the table for the remaining FY26 bills.
This year, our menu includes:
- A full slate of budget and oversight hearings across all 12 subcommittees, with nearly 70 proceedings held to sharpen priorities, strengthen accountability, and guide every line of the FY26 bills.
- Diligent debate and discourse, with over 91 hours of markups completed – a 160% increase from FY25.
- Steadfast conservative stewardship amid a 406% increase in Democrat amendment attempts and 228% increase in roll call votes, protecting Republican priorities while advancing FY26 progress.
- 12 of 12 bills advanced through full committee, the foundation of a responsible FY26 framework.
- Three full-year bills already enacted by President Trump, serving as the first course of real wins for veterans, farmers, families, and the functioning of Congress.
- Passing more than 60% of overall discretionary spending across the House floor, initiating the first conference committee process with the Senate since FY19.
- Ending the harmful Democrat-led shutdown that unleashed chaos across the nation, ensuring a line-by-line, transparent process can continue without a last-minute, bloated Christmas omnibus.
Our Appropriators are spotlighting the FY26 work they’re most grateful to have delivered:
