WASHINGTON - Today, House Appropriations Chairwoman Kay Granger released the following statement after Rep. Chris Stewart (UT) announced his planned resignation from the U.S. House of Representatives.
"I will miss serving with Rep. Chris Stewart, who has announced he is resigning from the Congress. He has been a valuable Member of the Appropriations Committee, and I have enjoyed working with him through the years.
WASHINGTON – Today, House Appropriations Chairwoman Kay Granger (TX) released the following statement on postponing markups scheduled for the week of May 22, 2023.
"Given recent developments in the negotiations between Speaker McCarthy and the President, and in order to give the Speaker maximum flexibility as talks continue, the Committee will postpone this week's markups."
The Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration Appropriations bill works to lower costs and grow our economy by supporting America's farmers, ranchers, and rural communities.
During the last Congress, many agencies and programs received significant increases, which is why I asked this Subcommittee to take a hard look at the spending it oversees.
