House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers spoke on the House floor today in support of H.J.Res. 78, a short-term continuing resolution providing funding for the federal government through December 22, 2015. The bill was adopted on a voice vote.

Chairman Rogers' statement follows:

"Mr. Speaker, I rise today to present H.J. Res.78, a short-term continuing resolution that will fund the government through December 22.

"Last night, we posted a full-year Omnibus funding bill. This bill will responsibly fund the government for the remainder of the 2016 fiscal year, at the levels set by the Bipartisan Budget Act passed in October. We are set to consider it later this week.

"However, our current funding mechanism expires today at midnight.

The House Appropriations Committee today unveiled the fiscal year 2016 Omnibus Appropriations bill, the legislation that will provide discretionary funding for the federal government for the current fiscal year.

House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers spoke today on the House floor in support of H.R. 2250, a short-term continuing resolution that provides funding for the federal government through December 16.

December 9, 2015
House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers today introduced a short term Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the federal government for an additional five days, until midnight on December 16, 2015 (H.J. Res. 75). With current funding for the federal government due to expire on December 11, the new resolution today will prevent a shutdown and allow for additional time for Congress to negotiate and pass a year-long Omnibus funding bill. The new resolution will maintain existing funding levels.
