House Appropriations Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen today released the following statement after Rep. Kay Granger was approved by the House Republican Conference to serve as Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Committee for the 116th Congress.

Kay has been an extremely valuable and hard-working Member of Congress for over 20 years. She understands the federal budget and Appropriations process – and the politics behind it – on a deep and comprehensive level gained by years of experience and dedication. She is not afraid to confront challenges or get to the bottom of complex issues, while also taking the time to see all sides.
