Chairman Rogers Announces Republican Staff Hire
House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers today announced the hiring of Matt Leffingwell to the Republican Committee staff. Matt will serve as Director of Member Services and Coalitions, where he will manage outreach to the Republican Conference and non-government entities.
Leffingwell, a Chicago native, is the former Chief of Staff for Committee member Rep. Kay Granger of Texas. He also served as her communications director.
Most recently, he served as the senior director of government relations for ONE Action, an advocacy and lobbying organization focused on ending extreme poverty and disease in sub-Saharan Africa, which was co-founded by U2 front man Bono.
"The Committee and I are pleased to have Matt join our staff. As we press ahead with our appropriations work, Matt will play an essential role to help ensure that Republican Members and their constituents have their voices heard," Chairman Rogers said, "He already knows the inner-workings of Congress and the process both inside and outside of the dome. He has hit the ground running and we are glad to have him on our team."
