Chairman Rogers Statement on the Passing of Rep. Alan Nunnelee

February 6, 2015

House Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers (R-KY) made the following statement on the passing of Rep. Alan Nunnelee, a member of the Appropriations Committee.

"Cynthia and I would like to express our deepest sympathies to the multitude of family members, friends and colleagues whose lives Alan touched over the last 56 years – especially his wife, Tori, and his three children, Reed, Emily, and Nathan.

"Alan was one of those rare individuals that was driven, astute, and loyal to God, family, and country. He was a true gentleman at his very core. As a colleague, he was a workhorse – at times eschewing the limelight but ever-willing to dig down and get the hard work done. His work in Congress and on the Appropriations Committee is a testament to his dedication to making his district and this country a better place for all. And as a friend, no one could ask for a more loyal and decent man by your side.

"We are truly saddened that we have lost such a great man so early in life. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who knew and loved Alan."
