Cole Statement on President Trump’s FY26 Budget

May 2, 2025

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) released the following statement on President Trump’s proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2026:

“Despite intense time constraints and the urgent demands of advancing the America First agenda, President Trump has demonstrated decisive leadership in delivering a clear starting point for the budget process. His commitment to responsible governance and protecting taxpayer dollars lays the foundation for restoring a government that serves the people – not itself. This Committee is prepared to do the hard work – line by line – to uphold fiscal discipline and effective governance. Our FY26 process will target resources where they are needed most, reinforce the safety and security of the American people, and invest in high-impact missions. In the weeks ahead, we will drive these efforts forward during hearings and markups to fulfill our Article I duties.”
