Granger on Secretary Esper as Acting Secretary of Defense

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Kay Granger (R-TX), top Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, issued the following statement on President Donald Trump's Department of Defense leadership announcement.

"I am very pleased that President Trump has selected Secretary Mark Esper to be the Acting Secretary of Defense," said Granger. "I have known Secretary Esper for many years, and he is an outstanding leader and a true patriot. We need a strong Secretary of Defense, and Secretary Esper has the right mix of experience and character to get the job done. It is my hope he is formally nominated and the Senate quickly confirms him."
