Granger on Transportation and Housing and Urban Development Bill

May 23, 2019
Press Release
WASHINGTON – Today, the Transportation and Housing and Urban Development Subcommittee met to consider its appropriations bill for fiscal year 2020. The measure was reported out of the Subcommittee and is expected to be considered soon by the Full Committee.

Top Appropriations Committee Republican Kay Granger (R-TX) said of the measure, "Innovative transportation projects, airport grants, highway upgrades, and targeted housing investments included in this bill will make significant headway in improving the safety and quality of life of the public. While these initiatives will improve our communities and help businesses move goods domestically and internationally, the bill includes controversial policy riders that must be eliminated, such as provisions that hamstring the Department of Transportation from common-sense rulemaking.

"I want to work with my colleagues as the bill moves through the process to address these concerns."
