House Republicans are Working to Secure the Border

September 27, 2023

For years, House Republicans have sounded the alarm on this Administration's border crisis, and with border encounters reaching a new record of 232,972 during the month of August, it's clear it's only getting worse.

House Appropriations Chairwoman Kay Granger and Homeland Security Subcommittee Dave Joyce have repeatedly emphasized that we need to both provide robust funding to the Department of Homeland Security AND force the Administration to end some of its most harmful practices.

Earlier this Congress, House Republicans delivered on their commitment to address the border crisis by passing H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act - historic border security and immigration enforcement legislation that reverses the Administration's open border policies.

H.R. 4367, the Homeland Security Appropriations Act, builds on House Republicans' success by taking the necessary steps to fund the critical provisions of H.R. 2 and prevent resources from going toward policies that encourage illegal immigration. See here for a comparison of the two bills.

House Republicans are continuing to deliver on their commitment to secure the border and protect Americans - something the Administration refuses to do.
