Lewis Statement on the GOP Earmark Moratorium

                             

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Appropriations Ranking Republican Jerry Lewis released the following statement today on the House Republican earmark moratorium vote:

 

“It is critically important that this Congress make forward steps to reduce spending and create jobs.  We should be vigilant in reducing all aspects of the federal budget to get our deficits and debt under control - including the one percent of the federal budget that earmarks represent. I will support the Republican leadership as they fight for these goals, and will continue to work with my Republican colleagues to rein in the out-of-control spending that has been the hallmark of this Democrat Congress.”
