Undefeated: House Republican Appropriators Go 12-for-12!
Washington, D.C.– As America approaches its 250th birthday, House Republican Appropriators are marking a milestone of their own: reporting all 12 Fiscal Year 2027 bills through their subcommittees and the full committee. Through hearings, oversight, markups, debate, and floor action, the FY27 process has showcased the role Article I was designed to play in our system of government – where elected representatives set priorities, allocate resources, and remain accountable to the people they serve through regular order. With a focus on fiscal effectiveness, advancing President Trump's America First agenda, and strengthening the foundations of U.S. prosperity and security for the centuries to come, Appropriators are reflecting on their 12-for-12 sweep, constitutional duties, and priorities moving forward.
Read on for thoughts from the members whose stewardship and focus helped deliver all our Fiscal Year 2027 bills across the committee finish line!
House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) said, "From the beginning of our Republic to now, Americans have always understood that surrendering to difficult circumstances is never an option. Appropriators feel the same way when it comes to Article I. No matter the challenges, shutdown tactics to veer the process off course, or long markup hours before us, we will never stop working line by line – and in good faith – to uphold our constitutional duty. Reporting all 12 of our FY27 bills out of full committee is proof that regular order still works when Congress commits itself to the task. Our dedicated cardinals and members have engaged, deliberated, and delivered on behalf of their constituents and the nation. They've balanced priorities, exercised careful stewardship, and advanced legislation that strengthens U.S. security, prosperity, and future. I am extremely proud of these America First bills – and the strong foundation they provide as we continue the appropriations process. Each measure reflects effective legislating and leaves omnibuses where they belong: in the ash heap of history. The People's House is at its best when it does the people's work – and we intend to carry that commitment forward with the same diligence and determination that brought us to this point.”
Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Subcommittee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-KY) said, "As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, we are displaying the strength of a federal government that works for the good of the American people, by advancing all 12 comprehensive appropriations bills. It is an honor to give Kentuckians a seat at the appropriations table, ensuring that rural America has a voice in funding that revitalizes our economy and protects our communities. The funding bill for Commerce, Justice, Science, and related agencies ensures that America is stronger from Main Street to the Moon, investing in law enforcement, bolstering innovation, and maintaining a competitive edge over China. I applaud Chairman Tom Cole for his astute leadership, guiding us through the rigorous work to deliver federal funding and thoughtful oversight of taxpayer dollars."
Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Subcommittee Chairman Robert Aderholt (R-AL) said, "I commend Chairman Cole for his staunch leadership and commitment to ensuring that as Appropriators, we remain committed to fiscal responsibility and transparency through regular order. As Chairman of the Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Subcommittee, I am proud that our FY27 Labor-HHS bill prioritizes the core mission of the Appropriations Committee by balancing the need for responsible fiscal stewardship, while maintaining key investments for the people and institutions that strengthen our nation. I look forward to continuing the process of investing in the American people and preparing our nation for the challenges and opportunities ahead."

While there is still work ahead, this milestone demonstrates what we can accomplish when Congress focuses on putting America first and governing responsibly."
