Joyce Remarks at FY26 Financial Services and General Government Member Day Hearing
This morning, we welcome Members on both sides of the aisle to the Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee as we kick off the 119th Congress.
From my perspective, there’s no better way to start our hearing schedule than to hear from our colleagues on their priorities, concerns, and thoughts about the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations process.
It is against this backdrop that we will construct our FY2026 bill – working with you, House Leadership and our colleagues in the Senate to draft the strongest bill possible.
I want to specifically thank Ranking Member Hoyer and the Democratic members of this subcommittee for their letter sent earlier this week.
Let me just respond with this. This subcommittee will uphold its Article I responsibilities and treat the current Administration no different than it did the previous Administration. Congress has a responsibility for oversight that transcends party.
I want to thank you all for taking the time to come this morning.
With that, I will turn to my colleague and the Subcommittee’s Ranking Member, Mr. Hoyer, for his opening remarks.
