The House Appropriations Committee today approved the fiscal year 2015 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill, which contains funding to train and equip our troops, provide housing and services to military personnel and their families, help maintain base infrastructure, and fund veterans’ benefits and programs. The bill will now head to the House floor for consideration.

Today, Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee Chairman Ken Calvert (CA-42) pressed U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe about the possible inclusion of the greater sage-grouse on the Federal endangered species list. Director Ashe stated that no decision on listing the greater sage-grouse would occur prior to September, 2015.

The House Appropriations Committee today released the fiscal year 2015 Legislative Branch Appropriations bill, which will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow. The bill provides annual funding for the offices of Members of the House of Representatives, the support agencies of Congress (including security), services for visitors, and Capitol operations and maintenance.
