Washington, D.C. – Today, House Appropriations Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) offered a motion to move the House to conference with the Senate on the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, and Legislative Branch Appropriations Acts, 2026. This marks the first time since Fiscal Year 2019 that regular appropriations bills could proceed to a conference committee, demonstrating renewed action to restore regular order.
Thank you, Chairman Cole, and thank you for the leadership that you bring to the House of Representatives, this Committee, and the entire process of appropriately funding our federal government. I would also like to thank Ranking Member Meng, Ranking Member DeLauro, and all Members of this Committee.
The House Appropriations Committee does some of the most important work in Congress, and it cannot be completed without Members’ dedication to this effort. Additionally, I would also like to thank both the Majority and Minority staff for their hard work.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Appropriations Committee met to consider the Fiscal Year 2026 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act. The measure was approved by the Committee with a vote of 35 to 28.
