The House Appropriations Committee today released the fiscal year 2014 Energy and Water Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill, which will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow. The legislation provides annual funding for national defense nuclear weapons activities, the Army Corps of Engineers, various programs under the Department of Energy, and other related agencies. The bill totals $30.4 billion – a cut of $2.9 billion below the fiscal year 2013 enacted level and a reduction of $4.1 billion compared to the President’s request.

The House Appropriations Committee today approved the fiscal year 2014 Agriculture Appropriations bill, which will now head to the House floor for consideration. The proposed legislation funds important agricultural and food programs and services, including food safety, animal and plant health programs, rural development and farm services, marketplace oversight, and nutrition programs.

The House Appropriations Committee approved the fiscal year 2014 Defense Appropriations bill. The legislation includes funding for critical national security needs, and provides the resources needed to continue the nation’s military efforts abroad. In addition, the bill provides essential funding for health and quality of life programs for the men and women of the Armed Forces and their families.

The House today approved the fiscal year 2013 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Appropriations bill (H.R. 2217) on a vote of 245-182. The bill provides funding to help strengthen America’s homeland security efforts while cutting wasteful or unnecessary programs.
