Chairman Cole Dear Colleague on FY26 Community Project Funding, Programmatic and Language Request Guidance

Dear Colleague,

I am pleased to announce the beginning of the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations process. On Monday, April 14, Members may begin submitting programmatic and language requests and Community Project Funding requests for the upcoming year. Starting next week, the Chairman of each subcommittee will begin releasing guidance for each bill.

As a result of the short timeline to draft bills in time for floor consideration, the Committee is maintaining similar eligible program accounts for Fiscal Year 2026 Community Project Funding. Additionally, due to the high demand and limited ability to fund all eligible requests, the limit of 15 projects per Member will be continued.

All projects that were included in House Reports for Fiscal Year 2025 are eligible in Fiscal Year 2026 but MUST BE RESUBMITTED by your office. Please continue to work with the recipient to ensure all information is up to date and accurate. The Committee continues to place a strong emphasis on the federal nexus of projects consistent with all federal policies and guidelines.

The House Appropriations Committee will offer general training sessions for staff on how to enter requests into the database on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. EST (RSVP here) and Friday, April 11, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. EST (RSVP here).

Committee staff are here to assist you and your office throughout the process – please reach out to us at any stage at Approp.MemberServices@mail.house.gov. I look forward to working with you during the Fiscal Year 2026 process. Attached is additional information on training and resources for your office.
