The U.S. House today approved H.R. 933, the Department of Defense, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act of 2013. The bill provides necessary funding to keep the doors of the government open until the end of the fiscal year on September 30.

Good afternoon, Chairman Sessions, Ranking Member Slaughter and members of the Committee. I am here before you today to present H.R. 933, a Continuing Resolution to provide funding for the remainder of the 2013 fiscal year, and to provide full-year appropriations for the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs.

House Appropriations Chairman Hal Rogers today introduced a Continuing Resolution (CR) to prevent a government shutdown and continue government operations until the end of the fiscal year on September 30, 2013 (H.R. 933). The legislation includes a full-year Defense Appropriations bill, as well as a full-year Military Construction/Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill.
