Welcome to the subcommittee markup of the Fiscal Year 2024 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies appropriations bill. I am pleased to be joined by Subcommittee Ranking Member Marcy Kaptur, Full Committee Chairwoman Kay Granger, and Full Committee Ranking Member Rosa DeLauro.
The Energy and Water bill is critical for our national security, our energy security, and our economic competitiveness. The recommendation totals $57.958 billion, an increase of $1.256 billion above Fiscal Year 2023 and a reduction of $1.963 billion below the President's Budget Request.
WASHINGTON – Today, the Full Committee met to consider the Fiscal Year 2024 subcommittee allocations. The measure was approved by the Committee with a vote of 33 to 27.
WASHINGTON - Today, the House Appropriations Committee released the Fiscal Year 2024 bill for the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Subcommittee. The bill will be considered tomorrow, June 15th at 9:00 a.m. The markup will be live-streamed and can be found on the Committee's website.
Members are required to post every Community Project Funding request online. Links to those public requests are included below in alphabetical order.

I want to start by thanking Speaker McCarthy, Leader Scalise, Ways and Means Chairman Smith, and Budget Chairman Arrington for their hard work on this bill.
I hope the President will come to the table and work with us to ensure our nation does not default on our debt.
I want to highlight one very straightforward idea included in this package: to rescind funds that are not needed at this time and redirect them to other priorities.
