Washington, D.C. – Today, with the swipe of his pen, President Donald J. Trump enacted H.R. 6938, the Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026, into law. Following the signing ceremony held at the White House, Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK), Commerce, Justice, Science Subcommittee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-KY), Interior and Environment Subcommittee Chairman Mike Simpson (R-ID), and Energy and Water Subcommittee Chairman Chuck Fleischmann (R-TN) released the following statements:

January 9, 2026
Washington, D.C. – This week, the House of Representatives passed the Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026, with a vote of 397 to 28. H.R. 6938 is expected to pass the Senate and be signed into law by President Trump next week, completing six of the twelve appropriations bills. Work continues on floor passage of the remaining FY26 legislation.

January 8, 2026
Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed the Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026 with a vote of 397 to 28. Appropriators have been making steady Article I progress, with three full-year appropriations bills signed into law and three more heading to President Trump's desk following Senate passage next week. All twelve full-year funding bills have passed through committee, and work continues on floor passage of remaining FY26 legislation.
