Lewis: CJS bill “does nothing to rein in spending or address the nation’s energy crisis”
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Science, and Justice today approved its annual funding bill for Fiscal Year 2009. The legislation includes a total of $56.85 billion in spending, which is an increase of $5 billion over FY 2008 and $3.17 over the President’s request.

WASHINTON, D.C. – In a closed meeting today, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense approved its Fiscal Year 2009 funding legislation for the Department of Defense. The approved version of the bill contains a total of $487.7 billion, which is $4 billion short of the President’s request.
The Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies will be accepting outside written testimony until April 15, 2011.
