Washington, D.C. – Today, House Appropriations Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Subcommittee Chairman John Carter (R-TX) and Committee Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) delivered remarks while leading debate on the House Floor in support of H.R. 8469, the Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2027. This is the first FY27 bill to be considered on the House floor.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the House Appropriations Committee released the Fiscal Year 2027 bill for the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Subcommittee. The bill will be considered in subcommittee tomorrow, May 15th at 9:00 a.m. The markup will be live-streamed and can be found on the Committee’s website.

Washington, D.C. – The House Appropriations Committee has advanced critical national security protections for the U.S. nuclear triad in response to growing threats from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and other adversaries seeking to encroach on America’s most sensitive military installations. Language included in the FY27 Financial Services and General Government funding bill and report will strengthen oversight of foreign ownership near key strategic assets – including sites like Whiteman Air Force Base in Rep. Mark Alford's (R-MO) district – where CCP-linked entities are strategically acquiring properties in close proximity to America's premier nuclear deterrence capabilities.
