WASHINGTON – Top Appropriations Committee Republican Kay Granger (R-TX) praised the passage of a much-needed disaster relief bill through the House of Representatives, which is now on its way to the President for signature. Granger was a lead negotiator of the bill, providing $19.1 billion in disaster assistance for more than 40 states and territories.
"Over the past few years, natural disasters have devastated communities throughout the nation, including military bases and farmland.

WASHINGTON – Today, the Full Committee met to consider the fiscal year 2020 Commerce, Justice, and Science appropriations bill. While the bill addresses a number of our nation's pressing priorities from expanding economic opportunity, making our communities safer, and investing in cutting-edge science, Committee Republicans were unable to support it due to controversial policy positions and the overall funding level.

WASHINGTON – Today, the Full Committee met to consider the fiscal year 2020 Interior and Environment appropriations bill. Due to the bill's overall funding increase and the removal of key bipartisan policy provisions enacted in prior years, Committee Republicans were unable to support the bill.

Top Appropriations Committee Republican Kay Granger (R-TX) said, "Funding our nation's defense is one of the most important responsibilities of Congress.

"While the Majority worked to include many of our priorities in this bill, it does not adequately address growing global threats, and it is less than requested, halting the progress we have made in improving military readiness and setting us on an unsustainable path.
