WASHINGTON – Rep. Kay Granger (TX), Chairwoman-Elect of the House Appropriations Committee, released the following statement on Rep. Kevin McCarthy's (CA) election to serve as the 55th Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Kay Granger (TX), the Lead Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, joined the Republican Leaders of three other House committees in sending letters to agency officials regarding rulemakings and other executive actions that clearly overstep the Biden Administration's authority. The letters bring attention to West Virginia v. EPA, a recent Supreme Court decision reiterating that "all legislative powers" remain with Congress.
