Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives met to consider H.R. 5371, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026. The measure was approved by a vote of 217 to 212.

Mr. Speaker, I yield myself such time as I may consume. I rise today in support of H.R. 5371, the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2026. This Congress has a fundamental responsibility to fund the government and keep it open and serving the American people.  It’s a duty I take seriously – and one I have worked diligently to lead on.

Washington, D.C.– The House Appropriations Committee has formally completed its work at the committee level, successfully advancing all 12 Fiscal Year 2026 bills through their subcommittees and the full committee. Through hearings, markups, and floor action, the FY26 process has focused on restoring fiscal responsibility, reining in wasteful spending, advancing President Trump’s America First agenda, and building a safer, stronger future for the nation.
